Shaw/Watha T. Daniel Library Friends

Your Library Needs You! Is more than just a catchy phrase, it is a call to arms.  Patron usage of libraries is down nationally due to the pandemic.  But now it is time to turn the tide.

Please attend the next meeting of the Friends of your local library and discover how you can help.  Have questions, please click here to share your thoughts and comments.  And if you like what you have heard, please consider joining.   Thank you.

The Friends of the Shaw/Watha T. Daniels Library support the library by raising funds for programs, services, and equipment; by advocating on behalf of the branch and the entire DC Public Library system to the library administration, the Mayor, City Council, and Congress; and supporting the freedom to read as expressed in the American Library Association Library Bill of Rights.

With your help, we can support a thriving public library system in our nation's capital!

Join the Friends today via the application below, and please plan to attend an upcoming meeting.
