The West End Library Friends to Host Reading and Discussion Series

Booker Prize Winners

This fall the West End Library Friends will create a Booker Prize Winner Book Club and host a discussion series.  The series will include novels depicting different historical periods of the 20th and 21st centuries set in England, Canada, Ireland and India from award-winning novelists. 

The series is funded by the West End Library Friends.  You need not be a member of the Friends to participate.

The series will be led by Philip Burnham, a retired associate professor in the English Department at George Mason University.  All discussions will be held at the West End Neighborhood Library, once a month, from 6:15 –8:00 p.m.  To register, please reply to this e-mail address: bookerprizeclub@gmail.com. You will receive confirmation of your registration by e-mail, but registration will be limited to 30 participants.  If registration is full, you will be placed on a wait list.  Registration ends September 16. 

The Booker Prize winning novels have been pulled from the library collection and are available at the front desk for checkout.

October 17 ---The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy (1997)

November 21---Prophet Song by Paul Lynch (2023)

December 19 –The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood (2000)
