6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Location
Georgetown Neighborhood Library
Join us at
Georgetown Neighborhood Library
for an event of reflection and celebration as we honor the 100th year anniversary of the influential author
James Baldwin
. In conjunction with Juneteenth and Pride month, our program will cover themes of self-love, freedom, home and identity, echoing Baldwin's enduring legacy. Experience an exploration of self-love and the freedom to love, as poet Tafisha Edwards delves into Baldwin's profound insights.
Drawing inspiration from Baldwin's seminal texts,
The Fire Next Time
and
Giovanni’s Room,
they will weave their own narratives in dialogue with Baldwin's wisdom. Following each reading, engage in discussions moderated by Hayes Davis. This event is sponsored by the Georgetown Library Friends.
